ABOUT CATHERINE STOCK
My name is Catherine Stock, and I am a public access barrister. That means that you can come to me directly rather than having to approach a solicitor first. There are many benefits of approaching a public access barrister, which are outlined in more detail in the public access tab.
I have been a barrister since 2007 and specialise in a few select areas. I have a particular interest in healthcare regulatory law and have represented hundreds of healthcare professionals before a variety of courts and tribunals. In addition, I have represented many families and care homes in all aspects of care law. My third specialism is that of coroners’ inquests, where I represent families and clinicians. For more detail of what I can offer, see specialist areas. Additionally, since undertaking pupillage at a large criminal chambers, I have prosecuted for a number of bodies and defended hundreds of clients charged will all types of criminal offences.
So why come to me?
I have a wealth of experience in the areas in which I practice, underpinned by a 20-year career in the NHS as a nurse, general manager and clinical director.
I understand the issues and dilemmas that clinicians face on a daily basis as well, having a detailed knowledge of the law in each area. Furthermore, I am a highly experienced advocate, well-used to both adversarial and inquisitorial environments.
As well as my legal practice, I also provide a consultancy and training service in related areas.
